Meet the Team

Kerryanne has worked with children of all ages to facilitate outdoor learning in primary and secondary schools and in community settings. She has a BA in Sociology and Spanish and an MA in Latin American Studies. After graduating, she taught cycling to children and adults of all ages and abilities to enable them to use sustainable transport methods safely and independently in our city. She has years of experience working on community projects to promote local food and food sovereignty, and set up a community garden in the West End of Newcastle. In her role as community gardener she has developed her social horticultural skills to be able to help people experience gardening as a therapeutic and educational activity to help them live more independent lives, develop a sense of purpose, promote well-being and have a reciprocal relationship with nature.
Inspired by the ethos of Forest School, she has completed her training as a Forest School Level 3 practitioner to nurture creative play and an appreciation of nature, whilst developing skills and confidence.

PGCE, rated outstanding by Ofsted, Level 3 Forest School Practitioner, expert in managing challenging behaviour and working with young people Not in Education, Employment or Training, enhanced DBS, Level 2 paediatric First Aid, Therapeutic Skills for Outdoor Leader Training, Earth Walk Training, Child Protection Lead.

Bringing up 3 of my own wild children in the most Forest School way possible. Learning from them every step of the way.

Jess has worked with the Wildlife Trust with schools and community groups as an outdoor teacher, and recently began work with the Royal Forestry Society as an education officer.

Susan has 9 years of experience delivering quality Forest School and outdoor learning across the UK.

Clara is a qualified English teacher and a Forest School Level 3 Practitioner. After 10 years in the classroom, Clara is exploring a new career in the outdoors. A love of fires and child-led play brought Clara to Stomping Grounds. She is enjoying the freedom and fun of Forest School and works to share her enthusiasm for the natural world with the fantastic young people who come to Stomping Grounds. Clara also loves being at the beach and travelling.
